It is winter in Nebraska! Here is a shot of Patrick's friend, Thelma Miske, to prove it. This was taken on our patio for Thelma to send to her family in the Philipines. I am sure they will find it hard to believe that their daughter is out in the snow and seeming to enjoy it.
This morning, my good friend Nancy sent me this poem by an unknown poet. It just about says it all!
Winter in Nebraska
It is winter in Nebraska
And the gentle breezes blow
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.
Oh, how I love Nebraska
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Nebraska
Cuz I'm frozen to the ground!
There is hope for us. The sun is shining brightly today. Maybe it will get up to zero!
